Are you thinking about making a career change? Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of today's youth? The Academy for Urban School Leadership in Chicago is seeking individuals to participate in its teacher residency program. The program combines teacher preparation, certification and a master's degree in an intensive 12-month period.

The AUSL Teacher Residency provides individuals with a full school year of teacher training, giving them the opportunity to work four days a week in a classroom under the guidance of an experienced teacher-mentor, a master's degree and Illinois teaching certification from National Louis University and financial support for the training year. ASUL also provides post-program job-placement opportunities in both elementary and high schools throughout Chicago.

All applicants must have a bachelor's degree by June 2012; prior experience in education is not required. ASUL's mission is to improve the academic achievement in Chicago's high-poverty schools. If you're looking for a position that will transform the lives of children, this job may be for you.
