For black Americans, a longer time without work: Although the U.S. gained more than 120,000 jobs last month, the number of long-term unemployed barely shifted, and unemployment rates for African Americans continued to go through the roof, an NPR and Kaiser Family Foundation poll shows.

"Killed over Concords" story not true: The disbelief over unruly crowds fighting and being pepper-sprayed over Air Jordan Concords turned to mourning when it was reported on social media and blogs that a young man, 18-year-old Tyreek Amir Jacobs, had been killed for the coveted shoes. But police say it appears to have been a hoax, and the image of Jacobs was a stock photo.
