On the three-month anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement, Occupy Des Moines activists on Saturday threatened to shut down an Obama-campaign office in Iowa, even if it means they have to set up camp around the clock.

"We have every intention to keep this place closed down until we are satisfied," Frank Cordaro, an activist and founder of the Catholic Worker group in Des Moines, told the Associated Press.

The group wants Obama to cut military spending by half and to "dismantle our U.S. military empire ... so we can create jobs, balance the budget, meet our people's needs here and help the human community to heal our dying planet." When the group arrived, they put up a sign saying "Obama's Former Headquarters" as they found the doors locked.

One of the activists, Julie Brown, who voted for Obama in 2008, said she no longer believed in him. "We need a real leader who will put this country back to work," she said.

An Obama-campaign spokesman declined to comment on the matter.
