Jennifer Hudson Pens New Memoir

The Root Recommends: A new tell-all by Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson.

Dutton Adult

Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson dishes on her weight loss and offers healthy-living tips and personal life stories in her new book, I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down.

Hudson, who has been the prominent spokesperson for Weight Watchers since 2010, lost more than 80 pounds throughout her transformation. In I Got This, which hits shelves on Jan. 10, Hudson also discusses her launch to fame on American Idol, playing the Florence Ballard-inspired Effie White in Dreamgirls and the traumatic deaths of her mother, brother and nephew in 2008.
