The Apprentice star Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth is asking for privacy today as she and her family grieve the loss of her brother, 40-year-old Jack Manigualt. He was murdered in what police describe as a deadly lover's quarrel, CBS News reports.

He was reportedly asleep at home with his girlfriend when her former boyfriend, 22-year-old Marco Cardenas, forced his way into the home. Several shots were fired, the paper says, including a fatal wound to Manigault's head.

Omarosa released a statement via her Washington publicist, saying that her brother had changed his ways after having been charged with a variety of crimes, including aggravated assault, obstructiion of official business and drug possession, in years past.

The reality-TV personality said, "My brother was so special to us! We loved him unconditionally, and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago. We thank everyone for their amazing outpouring of support surrounding the tragic death of my brother Jack ... Right now it is an extremely difficult time, and we ask that you allow family privacy to grieve and make all necessary arrangements."
