New Book Offers Crash Course on Today's Black Life

The Root Recommends: A new book that takes a witty approach to explaining contemporary black life and culture.

Three Rivers Press

Online columnist and blogger Patrice Evans, who goes by the witty pseudonym the Assimilated Negro, delves into the modern-day black condition in his new book, Negropedia: The Assimilated Negro's Crash Course on the Modern Black Experience. On the surface, Negropedia seems like a humorous collection of cultural banter and contemporary critique. But after deep thought, and a few laughs, the reader is introduced to a unique illustration of contemporary black life in a not-so-post-racial world.

Evans' Negropedia, which, according to the cover, is "suitable for all melanin levels," is now available.
