Hip-Hop Meets Gamer With 'Def Jam Rapstar'

The Root Recommends: Def Jam's popular hip-hop-based video game.

Def Jam Interactive

With the popularity of video games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, it was only a matter of time before hip-hop took a stake in the karaoke-game market. Def Jam Rapstar is the first truly interactive hip-hop game experience, available on XBox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii in early October. Def Jam Rapstar features hits by some of rap’s biggest names, including Yung Joc, Diddy, Nelly and more. Def Jam Rapstar also allows players to drop their own 16-bars over beats made by popular producers like Danja and Nitti Beats.

Along with the game, Def Jam Rapstar has a large interactive online presence, full of competitions and special offers for players. Def Jam Rapstar is available online on Amazon and at other major retailers.
