Good news for people who've gotten hooked (some of them against their better judgment) on this hourlong scripted drama: VH1 has announced that it will begin production of a new season of Single Ladies later this year, with new shows set to air in 2012.

The series debuted May 30, and the combination of fans who sincerely love it and those who consider it a guilty pleasure has made for a cumulative 2.8 million viewers and a very strong 18-34 female demo. The show, created and written by Stacy A. Littlejohn, looks at three Atlanta-based best friends (Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea star) and their trials and tribulations with love and relationships.

Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming and production for VH1, says the show is an "honest, modern take on love, female friendship and dating." That's up for debate, but one thing's for sure: It's here to stay.
