Hot Boys Rapper B.G. Indicted on Gun and Conspiracy Charges

The New Orleans rapper finds himself in trouble with the law once again.

Former Hot Boys rapper B.G. was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday in New Orleans for gun and conspiracy charges. The 30-year-old Southern rapper, whose real name is Christopher Dorsey, was charged with two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, along with one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The charges stem from a 2009 traffic stop in which officers recovered three guns, two of them stolen. Demounde Pollard and Jerod Fedisonwere -- two men riding with Dorsey at the time -- were also arrested.

Dorsey allegedly obstructed justice when he, Pollard and Fedison conspired to have Pollard sign a false affidavit claiming that Dorsey did not possess three firearms at the time of his arrest. Pollard and Fedison have both pleaded guilty to the charges. If convicted, Dorsey could face up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for the gun charges, and 20 years and a $250,000 fine for conspiracy.

What do rappers B.G., Lil Wayne, Turk and Juvenile have in common? They were all members of the rap group Hot Boys. What's another thing these four rappers share? They've all been charged with crimes or served time in prison -- three out of the four have faced gun charges. I guess it was simply a matter of time before B.G. followed his group mates.

Correction: An earlier version implied that B.G. was convicted and imprisoned, but he has only been charged.
