The Root Recommends: 'Happy Endings'

A new generation of the Wayans clan takes on TV.

It's not a secret that the Wayans family has a knack for starring in hit TV shows. The latest to join the family TV biz is Damon Wayans Jr., who stars in the new ABC sitcom Happy Endings.

The show tells the story of six friends who suddenly find themselves in unchartered territory after one member of the crew leaves another at the altar. Wayans plays the boyfriend of the bride's sister and, like his famous father, serves up a lot of laughter. Also starring Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton, Adam Pally and Casey Wilson Penny, the show airs Wednesdays on ABC at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT. Find out more at
