Missing teen Phylicia Barnes

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that the family of missing teen Phylica Barnes marked the one-month anniversary of her disappearance on Friday with a prayer vigil and an offer of $25,000 for information that leads to solving the case. Barnes disappeared from her stepsister's Northwest Baltimore apartment on Dec. 28, 2010, and hasn't been seen or heard from since. The then 16-year-old honor student supposedly left the apartment to get something to eat and never returned, according to her stepsister's ex-boyfriend. Numerous searches by Baltimore, state and federal authorities have yielded no sign of the teen.

Barnes' case has made national news, even being covered by Nancy Grace, and billboards bearing her face are posted along the I-95 corridor between Baltimore and New York, but still nothing. Authorities are hoping that an offer of a reward will prod someone into coming forward with information about the young girl with the brilliant future and infectious smile. Sadly, if someone's conscience won't be his or her guide, then maybe his or her wallet will?
