Motown Legend Harvey Fuqua Dies

Doo-wop giant produced Motown hits and jump-started Marvin Gaye's career.

The music industry is mourning the loss of an industry great and doo-wop legend, Harvey Fuqua. Fuqua sang with the Moonglows and ran his own label. Eventually he landed at Motown, producing such classics as Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's hits "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Precious Love." As music evolved, so did Fuqua, discovering disco icon Sylvester and his hit, "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real," and Two Tons of Fun's (the Weather Girls) "Just Us." He is the uncle of film director Antoine Fuqua.
