Let's Get Ready to Rumble: Feds Sue Arizona

Federal government pulls rank on controversial Arizona immigration law.

The federal government is suing the state of Arizona over its immigration law. The feds will not rehash the arguments against the laws that have been circulating, like racial profiling and civil rights violations, which are considered "weaker" arguments. Instead, the federal government will argue that immigration laws passed by Congress must take precedence over any passed by a state legislature --  the "pre-emption" legal argument. It is interesting that racial profiling and civil rights violations are considered weaker arguments that could not win this case. It will be more interesting to watch the fallout in the border states and other states trying to copy the Arizona legislation. If the feds win the lawsuit, what will they do to protect the borders?
