Do you hear that? No, it’s not a vuvuzela, the plastic trumpet that sounds like a swarm of bees. It’s the sound of the ratings going through the roof for the World Cup. Yes, the United States, which is not known as a soccer-friendly country, is apparently hooked on the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The Nielsen Company estimated that Saturday's first-round tie by the U.S. and English teams was seen by an estimated 13 million people, making it the most-watched telecast involving the U.S. men's team since 1994.
