Losing Isiah: Thomas Salty with Magic Memoir

Magic Johnson blasts Isiah Thomas in latest book "When the Game Was Ours"...

Uh oh. A few hoops legends are at odds over a book.

Isiah Thomas feels betrayed by Magic Johnson's various accusation in the soon-to-be released "When the Game Was Ours", a memoir written by he and Larry Bird documenting the rivalry between the Celtics, Lakers and Pistons during the 1980s.

In the book, Johnson alleges Thomas spread rumors concerning his sexuality following the revelation that he had contracted HIV in 1991. Magic also acknowledges that he was among several players who blackballed Thomas from the Dream Team before the Barcelona Olympics. Regarding the allegations made in the memoir, Thomas had this to say

"I'm really hurt, and I really feel taken advantage of for all these years,'' said Thomas, the Hall of Fame point guard and former NBA coach and executive, most recently with the Knicks. "I'm totally blindsided by this. Every time that I've seen Magic, he has been friendly with me. Whenever he came to a Knick game, he was standing in the tunnel [to the locker room] with me. He and [Knicks assistant coach] Herb [Williams] and I, we would go out to dinner in New York. I didn't know he felt this way.''
