Prosecutors Say Burris Didn't Lie, Merely Bungled Re-Telling the Truth

He didn't lie; he was just less-than-forthcoming about the truth...

Senator Roland Burris is no longer under investigation for perjury.

According to BET, Illinois state prosecutors say that though the senator was not terribly open about conversations with disgraced governor Rod Blagojevich's brother Robert, he didn't lie about said conversations.

Said State Attorney John Schmidt in a letter:

"It is clear from the conversation that Robert Blagojevich's call was to raise money for Governor Blagojevich and not to discuss the vacant Senate seat."

So, he kept revising the truth, but didn't lie.

Hmmmmm... That worked out nicely didn't it?
