The Big City That Wasn't Big Enough

They came in droves from all across the nation to get to inauguration, and when the big day arrived the expected happened -- pandamonium. Wall Street Journal got wind of how public transit couldn't accomodate all the people who headed to the National Mall before sunsrise. And CNBC has a view of the "sea of people" who attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Wall Street Journal got wind of how public transit couldn't accomodate all the people who headed to the National Mall before sunsrise. And CNBC has a view of the "sea of people" who attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Needless to say, there were headaches and hassles all day long. The "City Desk" blog kept track of the mood amidst the crowd. According to The Hour,  207,000 people were in the Washington Metro Transit system by 7 a.m. And The Huffington Post estimates a total inaugural crowd of over 1 million. Yikes!
